Files, Drive, and Templates

Drive is MuleRun's built-in cloud file space. It collects your agent task outputs, reference materials, and long-term personal documents in one folder tree, so you can organize, reuse, and download everything in one place.

Open it at: https://mulerun.com/drive

Two Ways to Reach Your Files

  • Drive (left-nav): opens a table of the files and folders in the current directory, with a search box, an Upload File button, New Folder, and your storage usage.
  • In chat: when an agent generates a file, it lands automatically in the Agent Workspace folder. You can also ask the agent to read or write files in Drive during the conversation.

Agent Workspace

Agent Workspace is a platform-maintained system folder. It is organized two levels deep, by Agent name / Session name, so you can trace any file back to the agent and session that produced it.

  • It cannot be renamed or deleted (shown greyed-out and marked as a system folder).
  • Files inside can still be previewed, downloaded, renamed, or deleted individually.

What Can Drive Do?

  • Browse: files are sorted by modified time (newest first) by default; click a column header to change the sort.
  • Search: instant filename search within the current folder only. (The chat From Drive picker has a separate account-wide filename search — it returns files only, not folders.)
  • Preview: images, video, audio, PDF, Markdown, code, CSV, HTML, plus Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Office documents open in online edit mode and auto-save back to Drive.
  • Download: one file at a time.
  • Rename: any file or folder.
  • Attach to chat: in the message input box, click +From Drive to attach existing Drive files.

"Source" Column

The Source column marks who wrote each file:

  • Inside Agent Workspace it shows the Agent name.
  • Elsewhere, files you uploaded show Me.
  • Files with no recorded source show .

Uploading Files

  • Uploads run in a queue, max 3 concurrent; large files are chunked automatically.
  • Filenames (and folder names) cannot contain / or \.
  • No duplicate names in the same directory.
  • Empty files are rejected.
  • If an upload is interrupted (network drop, closed browser), the session is cancelled — re-select the file to retry.

Attaching Drive Files in Chat

  • Each message can carry up to 20 files, each up to 500 MB.
  • For more or larger payloads, zip the files, upload the zip, and attach that.

The 500 MB figure is the per-message attachment limit, not a storage limit. The maximum size of a single file stored in Drive is 10 GB (see the table below).

What Drive Doesn't Do

  • No public share links — download a file, then share it through another channel.
  • No batch or multi-select operations — act on one item at a time.
  • No folder-as-zip download — folders cannot be downloaded as a single archive.

Deleting Files

Deleting a file or folder is permanent. Drive has no recycle bin and no backup:

  • Deleting a folder removes all of its contents.
  • Freed space is released immediately.
  • Always preview before you delete.

Running Out of Space

  • When used storage plus an incoming file would exceed your tier's quota, the upload is rejected (insufficient space) and agent writes also fail. Your existing files are fully kept and stay readable, downloadable, and deletable.
  • After a downgrade that puts you over the new quota, existing files remain readable, downloadable, and deletable, but no new uploads or writes are allowed until you delete enough or upgrade again.

Storage by Plan

Drive does not consume Credits — it is limited by your storage quota.

Can Templates Be Downloaded as Files?

No. MuleRun templates cannot be downloaded as standalone files. When you load a template, the related Skill is automatically deployed into the session.
